Alternity is an instant messenger for Linux. Currently it supports AIM screen names, with plans to support other services including MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ, and Jabber. It doesn't yet support all the features the popular IM clients have, but its getting there. More on Alternity can be found using the links in the menu.

Carina is a viewer of 3D file formats for Linux. Carina will originally support VRML file formats but will be expandable to other formats. More on Carina can be found using the links in the menu.

A project started by Jeff Sonstein at RIT. It deals with bringing 3D worlds to the web using a new format he has designed. The Carina Project will support the xVRML format. Look up more at the xVRML website at http://www.xvrml.net.
